My how time flies…

Twenty-one years. I can’t believe that I’ve been playing the World of Warcraft (“WOW”) for 21 years! Here I am at 63 years-old myself and I’m still playing, and once again anxiously awaiting the release of a new expansion on the World of Warcraft Classic Anniversary servers! I’m giddy for the anticipated release of The Burning Crusade (“TBC”) on the Anniversary servers sometime in February. I’m giddy for the chance to once again roll a Blood Elf Paladin, yes Horde forever! Once more unto the breach, dear friends…

WOW’s first expansion, The Burning Crusade, was introduced 18 years ago in January. I remember it well because I was out there for a 12AM release at my local GameStop, along with many others looking to purchase the expansion, the excitement for the very first time playing Blood Elves, and as Paladins even. The new city, Silvermoon, the new starting area… it was all so much fun! Now, in February, I’ll get to relive that, even though I’ve played TBC on other servers. I just think that it will be special on the Anniversary Server, and I can’t wait.

It all reminds me about the very first time playing through WOW way back there in 2004. Back when there was no Wowhead to look things up on, where the mob was, what was a BIS, none of that. All we had back then was Thottbot, the very first ever WOW database for items, drop zones, and other information. My first character was a female Night Elf named Luxanna, a rogue which I at the time didn’t know how to play. I can remember running through Ashenvale, looking for a target mob, and having no idea where anything was, constantly running into enemy spiders or bears. It was the best time ever, the funnest time.
